Human Trafficking

One of the vilest evils against human beings is human trafficking, sadly it is everywhere in our nation and the state of Iowa. We would like to share some statistics, so the body of Christ is aware of the dire situation. Use this information as prayer points for us to come into agreement for God to intervene as we intercede to the Righteous Judge.

Sobering Statistics:

• Nationally: Estimated number of sex trafficking victims in America is around 500,000 annually. (helpjbm.org)

• It is present in all 50 states. However, most cases go unreported. (helpjbm.org)

• Average age of victims in the USA is 12-14 years old. (helpjbm.org)

  
  

• Iowa: It is estimated that 8,600 people in Iowa are victims of human trafficking annually. (Safe House Project Annual Report - 2023)

• Human Trafficking has been reported in every county in Iowa. This includes big cities and rural areas. (Polaris)

• One out of every three runaway teenagers in Iowa is approached for commercial sexual exploitation within 36 hours of leaving home. (Iowa Atty General Office)

• Facilities for restoration of child victims of trafficking are very limited in Iowa.

• Most victims are not kidnapped or held captive physically. Rather, traffickers lie, manipulate, and use threats to lure and keep their victims.

  Updated information:

  ● 71% of trafficking victims are women and girls worldwide

  ● 1 in 4 victims are children worldwide.

  ● It’s estimated that only 1% of human trafficking victims are ever identified in the USA

  ● 80% of survivors end up being re-victimized if they have no safe place to go in the USA

• Psalm 82:4 "Rescue the weak and need; Save them from the hand of the wicked."

• For greater awareness and education in our communities.

• The body of Christ would work together to help these innocent victims.

• For all those needing rescued to be found and ministered to.
