Please pray for Governor Reynolds to uphold the rights of private landowners by signing HF639 into law by this Friday, June 13. If she doesn’t sign it by then, this bill does NOT become law, and private property rights will NOT be upheld. HF639 prohibits the use of eminent domain on agricultural land for CO2 pipelines by private companies (such as Summit) for profit without public necessity. Landowners have been pleading since 2021 (when Summit came on the scene in Iowa) for protection of private property rights. This bill is the first step in fixing the Iowa broken pipeline permitting system.
Please pray for Governor Reynolds to protect private property rights by signing this bill into law by Friday, June 13.
Below is the actual bill and an article that explains this better.
If you would like to call and ask the Governor to sign HF639, which protects our private property rights, the number is 515-281-5211.
The receptionist will simply ask for your name, phone number and what county you are from...then they will pass the information onto the governor.
