Iowa Capitol Prayer Update 4-21-26

God blessed us with meeting in Room 22 again today – the Senate room used for Republican caucusing!  The presence of the Lord was heavy today in this room – our prayers are being seeded and planted in that room – and we are seeing glimmers of hope for breakthrough in the Senate.  Continue praying!!!

1. Anti-foreign law bill (HF2695) – This bill still needs to get to the Senate floor for a vote. 

2. Black market abortion pill bill (HF2563) – this bill passed the full committee on 4-16-26!  Praise God!  It still needs to get to the House floor for a vote, and then through the Senate.  Keep praying!!!  If you would like to contact legislators about moving this bill forward, please email the following two:

3. Parents right to raise a child according to their biological sex bill (HF2557, HSB669) – Keep praying – this still needs to get to a vote on the Senate floor.

4. Age verification bill (SF443) – pray this law makes it to the floor in the Senate.  It is hung up in a deal making crisis, for lack of a better description.

5. Pray for the Senate – Pray for the end of the session, that issues can be resolved quickly and bills get to the Senate floor before session ends.  Continue to pray for the breakthrough in the Senate – it is beginning to manifest!!!

6. Bill reforming the emergency powers of the Governor (HF2694) – Continue to pray it passes through the Senate EXACTLY as passed by the House.  This bill needs much prayer, it needs to be passed before the session ends this April. 

7. Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer – Answered prayer!  The family member Lt. Governor Cournoyer traveled overseas for regarding a medical emergency is expecting a full recovery!

8. Gubernatorial race – the primary is less than 2 months away.  Pray for God’s selected candidate to have favor with the people and move forward in this process. 

9. Jewish communities in Iowa, New York and the US – there will be a Holocaust Memorial at the Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines on April 26.  Pray protection over all participants.  Pray God’s protection over the Jewish communities in New York, as well as to be protected by the law.

10. Pipeline bill (HF2104) – An amendment was filed to this bill on 4-16-26.  Pray this bill and amendment make it to the Senate floor for a full vote!

National and International

1. SAVE Act

2. Mifepristone bill – Introduced by Senator Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) that would withdraw the FDA’s approval of mifepristone as an abortion drug.  Senator Hawley is now pushing to have DOJ investigate the abortion drug maker (Danco Labs).

3. Department of Homeland Security – Continue to pray for Congress to fully fund the department and allow them to reopen soon.

4. New AI Legislation – Trump Administration – Pray for policies that truly protect children while preserving the freedoms we cherish.  The Lord’s guidance for leaders, strengthen families, and raise up a generation grounded in the truth.

7. Iran, US, Israel – a rapid end to the war with nothing compromised.  Wisdom for President Trump and US leaders.  The US seized an Iranian cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman last weekend.  With Strait of Hormuz closed, it is forcing the nations of the world to look elsewhere for oil, and many of them are coming to America.  Pray that China does not overreact to this.

8. USA position with NATO – Britain, Spain, Italy and France are all restricting military access to the United States.  As a part of NATO, when one is at war, all are at war.  This is not happening.  Pray exposure of the enemy’s plans in all this.

9. Persecuted Christians across the world – China, south Lebanon, Israel, Nigeria

10. US Scientists disappearances – Several of the missing scientists were involved in highly sensitive nuclear and aerospace research – fields vital to Americas defense and future technological strength.  The unexplained nature of these cases raises concerns about whether hostile forces could be targeting key individuals.  Pray for all hidden things to be revealed.

11. Bible Reading Marathon in Washington, DC – Event runs through April 25 at the Museum of the Bible.  Praise for God’s Word being read aloud in the Capitol city of our nation!!!
