Capitol Prayer 4-14-26
1. Anti-foreign law bill (HF2695) – This bill still needs to get to the Senate floor for a vote.
2. Black market abortion pill bill (HF2563) – this bill, had a subcommittee in Appropriations today as we were praying, and it passed out of the subcommittee! It still has a long ways to go to get through the House and then through the Senate. Keep praying!!! If you would like to contact legislators about moving this bill forward, please email the following two:
Speaker Grassley - pat.grassley@legis.iowa.gov
Representative Bobby Kaufmann - bobby.kaufmann@legis.iowa.gov
3. Parents right to raise a child according to their biological sex bill (HF2557, HSB669) – Keep praying – this still needs to get to a vote on the Senate floor.
4. Age verification bill (SF443) – pray this law makes it to the floor in the Senate. It is hung up in a deal making crisis, for lack of a better description.
5. Pray for the Senate – Seek the Lord as to how to pray into this. Press into prayer for the breakthrough we are anticipating!
6. Bill reforming the emergency powers of the Governor (HF2694) – Continue to pray it passes through the Senate EXACTLY as passed by the House. This bill needs much prayer, it needs to be passed before the session ends this April.
7. Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer – has asked for prayer as her family is currently navigating a medical emergency overseas.
8. Gubernatorial race – the primary is less than 2 months away. Pray for God’s selected candidate to have favor with the people and move forward in this process.
9. Jewish communities in Iowa, New York and the US – there will be a Holocaust Memorial at the Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines on April 26. Pray protection over all participants. Pray God’s protection over the Jewish communities in New York, as well as to be protected by the law.
National and International
1. SAVE Act
2. Mifepristone bill – Introduced by Senator Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) last week that would withdraw the FDA’s approval of mifepristone as an abortion drug. If this would pass, it would bring all states into alignment and on the same page regarding these abortion drugs. This needs covered in prayer!
3. Department of Homeland Security – Continue to pray for Congress to fully fund the department and allow them to reopen soon.
4. New AI Legislation – Trump Administration – Pray for God’s wisdom for those developing policy, to protect children from the dangers of AI, as well as all Americans.
5. Military – protection over our military and prayers for those families who have lost loved ones.
6. President Trump and cabinet
7. Iran, US, Israel – a rapid end to the war with nothing compromised. Wisdom for President Trump and US leaders. With Strait of Hormuz closed, it is forcing the nations of the world to look elsewhere for oil, and many of them are coming to America. Pray that China does not overreact to this.
8. USA position with NATO – Britain, Spain, Italy and France are all restricting military access to the United States. As a part of NATO, when one is at war, all are at war. This is not happening. Pray exposure of the enemy’s plans in all this.
Pastor Rob McCoy (Charlie Kirk’s pastor) spoke on ekklesia (the Church) when he was in Iowa the end of March, and Dutch Sheets spoke on it today in GiveHim15. It is from Matthew 16:18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
From Dutch Sheets: “Church is the word ekklesia, which means “called out from”. It was not a building, worship service or organization… it was not even a religious term at that time. It referred to an assembly or group of people “called out from” the general population in order to govern… The Ecclesia had the power to nominate and elect magistrates, who were responsible for administering the city’s affairs and carrying out the assembly’s decision. The Ecclesia also had the authority to pass laws and to decide on issues related to foreign policy, defense and the administration of justice. In addition to its legislative powers, the Ecclesia also participated in the judicial process in Athens. The Ecclesia members would try cases involving serious crimes such as murder and they could impose punishments.
We are governing with our prayers as we pray. And we are in the process of transforming our government to again be the Ecclesia in the natural. Our prayers are an imperative part of this! Jesus had governmental language in His writings, and our prayers are in alignment with this!
