Capitol Prayer - Iowa 1-27-26

Before I list the prayer updates, I would like to encourage everyone to get to their caucus on Monday, February 2 at 7:00 pm. I also highly encourage you to sign up to be a delegate for the county, district and state conventions. This will be done at the caucus on Monday, February 2. Because we have 5 gubernatorial candidates, there is a high probability that no one will get 35% of the vote at the primary. If this happens, the delegates at the state convention will be the ones voting on who will be the Republican nominee for governor and the candidate who will run against Rob Sand. You will need to commit to 3 Saturdays:

Saturday, March 7 - County Convention

Saturday, April 25 - District Convention

Saturday, June 13 - State Convention

IF there are any delegate openings not filled in your precinct at the caucus, those spots will be filled in by the Republican party. This most likely will NOT be a grassroots candidate. Please encourage people in your precinct to get to your caucus and sign up to be delegates. Please let me know if you have any questions on this.

- Trump events today (one at Machine Shed the other at the Horizon events center).

- gubernatorial debate tonight at the Historical building

- caucuses next Monday, February 4

- HF2104 - bill prohibits eminent domain (passed by the House and is now in the Senate.)

- Senator Drey has cervical cancer and is having a hysterectomy today and will be out of office for several weeks to recover.

• Next generation - schools (curriculum, library books)

• Legislators - special sessions and meetings

• Mid-term elections - righteous candidates to prevail, well-attended caucuses next week

National

• President Trump; VP Vance - protection for them and their families; Cabinet; staff; l l legislators

• Illegal issues - protection for ICE

International

- Iran

- Israel - Board of Peace

Please also keep praying for God's provision for us for a room each Tuesday. Representative Mark Cisneros provided a room for us today. So thankful for him!!!

Next Tuesday, February 3, we have room 113 Treasurer’s office reserved Noon -1 pm. Make sure you go to 113 and not 114 as 114 is staff only. Thank you! And thank you Tom McGovern for arranging for us to meet here!

1. SF2003 - subcommittee meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21 at noon-12:30. A         bill for an act prohibiting school districts, charter schools and innovation zone schools         from providing any program, curriculum, test, survey, questionnaire, promotion or         instruction relating to gender theory or sexual orientation instruction in grades seven         through twelve. Representative David Blom and Lydia (Senator Sandy Salmon's clerk) were with us for prayer today.
